    The Gallup High School JROTC and the Gallup NHS has teamed together to conduct the next blood drive. It is scheduled for 14 March. Please help us make this blood drive a success. If you would like to give blood, please let me know and  I will make you an appointment. If you have spouse who would like to give blood, I can make them an appointment too. They are in 15 minute increments. Please support students who would like to give blood. Students have to be 16-17 with a permission slip. 18+ just need an id and I can make them an appointment if they come and see me. 

    Please help us make this a success!!

Daily Announcements for Friday February 16, 2018 

  • Students there will be NO school on Monday February 19th due to Presidents Day.
  • Congrats to all our Lady Bengals basketball teams for their win last night in Aztec Varsity score 61-25, great job ladies.
  • A.D.D. members and Swim team:  You are working concessions and selling Dilly Bars tomorrow beginning at 3;30.  Please see Ms. Yardley if you have questions.

  • Students and staff, please remember that you have the opportunity to share your creative writing and visual art in this year's annual edition of the Ambush! Literary magazine. Bring your work to Room A202 or email it to Ambush at ambushnews@gmail.com.

  • The annual GMCS song writing festival will be held on April 19th, 2018 at 7pm in the Stagecoach elementary gym. Any GMCS student may write a song or songs and perform them. You may also have someone else perform the song for you. A keyboard and sound system will be provided. All other instruments must be brought by the performers.   • The Gallup Teen Health Clinic is able to provide sports physicals to anyone in need of one for the upcoming sports deadlines. Clinic hours are every Tuesday from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
  • The Gallup High JROTC and Gallup High NHS has teamed together to conduct the next Blood Drive, which is on 14 March. If you are 16 or 17 years old, you can donate blood with a parent permission slip. You can get one from NHS or the JROTC program. Appointments will be made once the permission slip is returned. Please help us make this Blood Drive a success!!
  • Ambush! is looking for creative student and teacher work to feature in this year's Literary magazine. It can be writing or visual art. The deadline is March 16th, and work can be submitted in Room A202 or at ambushnews@gmail.com. This year we are hoping to print full-color copies.
  • The annual GMCS song writing festival will be held on April 19th, 2018 at 7pm in the Stagecoach elementary gym. Any GMCS student may write a song or songs and perform them. You may also have someone else perform the song for you. A keyboard and sound system will be provided. All other instruments must be brought by the performers. Please email Mr. Hernandez at to sign up.
  • Swim practice will be at the aquatic center Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4: to 6:00 p.m. team, see Ms. Yardley in counseling if you have questions.

  • Students, there will be testing next week. Be sure to check the commons to see if you are scheduled for testing.  Branch students who are testing, please make sure you stay at Gallup High School for testing.
  • Senior Class is hosting a Staff Vs Student Basketball game today Feb. 7th, you may purchase a ticket for $2 at the door. 
  • Senior students that have a CIB number. JOM will be paying for cap and gowns this year. You will need your parents to fill out a Parent Cost Form and attach a copy of your CIB.  You may pick up the Cost Form from Marilyn Smith in the front office.  Deadline to return the form has been extended to this Friday, February 9th, 2018.
  • Student poets:  During the month of February, there will be a poetry board in the library.  Post your own original poetry!  At the end of February, we will have a poetry slam for students to read their poems during the lunches.
  • Attention Juniors and Seniors, a representative from NAU will be visiting Gallup High on Tuesday, February 13th at 2:30. If you are interested in attending, please come sign up in the Counseling office with Ms. Martinez. The deadline to register is February 12th.
  • A New Mexico Highlands University representative will be visiting GHS on February 20th during 6th If you are interesting in meeting with them, please go to the Counseling to sign up with Ms. Martinez. All grade levels are welcomed! Deadline to sign up is February 16th.
  • A Fort Lewis representative will also be visiting GHS on February 22nd during 2nd hour to meet with interested Juniors. If you are interested, please sign up with Ms. Martinez in the Counseling office by February 21st.
