  • We would like to congratulate our Cross Country athletes that competed at state over the weekend. For the Girls Jessica Ramirez 4th in 5A and 9th in the state, Celine Nez 34th, Bailey Tom 47th, Hunter Livingston 66th, Vanessa Gorman 68th, Cheyenne John 73rd, and Katelyn Thompson 88th all in 5A. For the Boys Demetri Begay 17th, and Shawn McCraith 52nd also in 5A.  Good job athletes.
  • Congratulations to the GHS Bengal Girls Dance team for winning 1st place in the Varsity Kick division and 1st place in the Varsity Hip hop division at the Turquoise Dance Cup competition on Saturday.  Our dancers were also GRAND CHAMPS of the entire Team competition. Great job Dancers, way to start off the competition season!!!!
  • Tuesday Nov. 7th and Wednesday Nov. 8th this week, we will be providing NMSBA Science retakes for Seniors.  The testing will begin tomorrow morning at 8:30 am.  If you have an off-campus class, you MUST stay behind to take the test these two days.  Testing will be held in the morning and afternoon on Tuesday and in the morning on Wednesday.  PLEASE be here if you need to take the test!  The names of students who need the test and the assigned testing rooms has been posted on the windows in the commons.

Weekly rehearsal times are to be determined.

  • The deadline to sign up for the December ACT is THIS Friday, November 3rd.  The photo upload deadline is Friday, December 1st.  Please see your counselor for assistance.
  • Magazines have started to arrive in the Library!  Come during lunch or before or after school to peruse them!  Check out the newspapers, too!  Be an informed citizen!
  • Soon, some seniors will be re-taking the NMSBA Science test and PARCC to meet their graduation requirements.  Information about the test schedules will follow later.  Please be reminded that all electronic devices must be turned off and put in your back pack.  The back pack must be stowed away from your work area.  Also, please be aware that if you finish testing before the other students in your classroom, you have two choices:  read a book you have brought with you or put your head down.  These are the only two choices.  Be prepared by bringing a book or be ready to sit quietly until everyone finishes testing.  This will be the expectation for all standardized testing this year.
  • Reminder Pre-sale yearbooks will be $50 until Christmas Break.
  • The Gallup Teen Health Clinic is able to provide sports physicals to anyone in need of one for the upcoming sports deadlines.
  • Seniors please check out the Gallup High School website for Scholarship opportunities.
  • Swim practice will be at the aquatic center Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4: to 6:00 p.m. Swimmers remember to get your physical done soon.  We still have room for more swimmers on our team, see Ms. Yardley in counseling if you have questions.
  • Animal awareness group meeting immediately after school every Thursday.
  • Native American Club Meetings every Wednesday at 8:00 am in the Career Center.
  • Yearbook will meet every Tuesday right after school in A104.
  • Student Council will meet every Wednesday morning at 8:05 am in A104.
  • The Gallup High Students Against Destructive Decisions Chapter will meet on Friday mornings at 8:00 a.m. in the Counseling Office Career Center.  If you want to make a difference in our school and our community, check us out.  If you have questions, see Ms. Yardley in Counseling.
