Daily Announcements for Friday April 20, 2018 

  • Remember students there will be no school on Monday April 23rd due to Navajo Sovereignty Day.
  • Social Studies will be on duty next week please be in your assigned areas.
  • SENIORS, please check to see if you have any fees. All fees must be cleared by graduation. See Registrar.
  • Students and teachers: Please return all laptops checked out from library.  They will be needed for testing.
  • If a student checked out a calculator with Ms. Zecca for the ACT, please return it to C-204 ASAP otherwise a $150.00 fine will be placed on your fine list. Need calculators by tomorrow for PARCC testing.
  • All Seniors, all classes including credit recovery must be completed by May 4th. We will be having an upcoming senior meeting to discuss further.  Also if you do not have the required credits you will not be able walk at graduation.
  • Seniors can start picking up their pictures from A104 that they brought in for the yearbook.
  • The SADD service project at CARE 66 has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 5th.  Please see Ms. Yardley in counseling if you have questions.
  • The Gallup High Talent Show will be held on Saturday, April 28 in the auditorium at 6:00 p.m.  Tickets will be sold at the door and will be $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students.  Children under 5 will be admitted free.  Please see Ms. Yardley in Counseling if you have questions.
  • Seniors, Baccalaureate Mass will be Saturday May 5th at 5:15 pm at Sacred Heart Cathedral, meet at 4:45 in you Cap & Gown in the family center.
  • Seniors, the Senior MORP will be Saturday April 28th for seniors and their dates, formal dress attire. Tickets will go on sale Tuesday April 24th at both lunches $15.00 for couple, $10.00 for single.
  • Attention all Boys Basketball Players: All banquet forms are due TODAY.  Please turn them into Coach Voight immediately.  If forms are not turned in you and your family/guests will be charged $10.00 at the door.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided by the summer lunch program. Transportation will also be available. Sign up with your counselor ASAP.
  • The annual GMCS song writing festival will be held on tonight at 7pm in the Stagecoach elementary gym. Any GMCS student may write a song or songs and perform them. You may also have someone else perform the song for you. A keyboard and sound system will be provided. All other instruments must be brought by the performers.   • Attention Seniors – if you are still interested in applying to UNM or have questions regarding your application and want to know about scholarship opportunities, a representative from UNM will be visiting Gallup High on April 18th during 5th hour to assist you. Juniors are welcome too! Please sign up with Debbie Martinez in the counseling office ASAP!

  • The State of New Mexico bans the use of cell phones or electronic devices by students during State mandated testing such as PARCC or EOC's. To enforce this policy for the State Mandated testing that will occur between the end of March and the end of the school year, Gallup High will institute the following policy effective March 26, 2018: if a student has a cell phone out or in use during a State mandated testing session, the phone will be confiscated and returned to parent or guardian after the last day of instruction for the school year, May 25, 2018.
  • Students:  Bring a book or magazine to read when you finish your PARCC tests.  Testing rooms will not be released until everyone has finished, so you need to be prepared to read a book or magazine or take a nap.  Talking or accessing phones or homework is not allowed.  Reading or napping are your only two choices.
